Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide daily leadership and direction to all department staff.
- Manage all aspects of the Wean to Finish department.
- Communicate with team, goals and expectations for the farms.
- Oversee daily chores; i.e.: Feeding, watering, animal health check and monitoring of barn temperature/ventilation.
- Complete orientation and training of new employees in a timely manner.
- Work with contract growers on over site of pigs and facilities.
- Mark pigs for market.
- Schedule deliveries and shipments of pigs.
- Stock barns and pens correctly.
- Monitor pit levels and water usage weekly.
- Do records accurately, completely, and timely.
- Communicate with General Manager about any issues. I.e.: pig flow, culls, maintenance, health, contract growers and any team projects.
- Assist with team projects or any other reasonable duty that may be needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment.
- Follow and help ensure high biosecurity protocols.
- Manage dead removal.
- Order feed, supplies and equipment.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to assist in moving dead animals. Ability to handle adult pigs, 200-550 pounds. Ability to climb gates, kneel and bend at waist for extended periods of time. Ability to operate high pressure washing equipment.
Working Conditions
- Primarily indoor environment with moderate temperature ranges. Rooms can be noisy.
- Normal work week is 40 hours or whatever is required to get the job done. Cooperate with weekend and holiday schedules as needed.
